  • WE ARE ONLY HUMAN Everything in life starts with acceptance and only when we embrace our flaws and weaknesses, we can work on them and improve. Once we realize that we always have a choice as to how we want to react to whatever comes our way, we can start turning our life around and achieve things that we never dreamt of. Chapter one It’s OK to feel down sometimes Highs and lows are part

of life and we wouldn’t enjoy the highs without knowing about the lows. Society has us programmed that we always have to look and feel happy and social media posts of people that we know nothing about make us feel insecure. Sometimes things just aren’t going so great. Chapter two Take full responsibility – Adjust your sails Our life is the result of all the decisions we have ever taken, we cannot change what happens to us, but we can decide how we want to react to it. Once we realize that we have power over our path of life and a choice of which our path we wish to choose, we can do things we never dreamt of and will find opportunities we never imagined. Chapter three The difference between the conscious and the subconscious mind 95% of everything we do is driven by our subconscious mind where our memories, habits, values, beliefs etc. are located and we spend most of our time on autopilot. Our subconscious mind can work against us when we have beliefs that limit us, we procrastinate and self-sabotage. Chapter four Leave the comfort zone The comfort zone may be a nice place, but nothing really grows there. It’s a place where dreams die because we are afraid to take a risk knowing, that life may become a little uncomfortable for a while without realizing that success is on the other side of the comfort zone. Part II GIVE UP THINGS THAT DON’T SERVE YOU We are creatures of habit and like doing the things which we know. Our subconscious mind wants to protect us and brings us back to what it thinks is comfortable for us. However, in order to grow, life has to become a little uncomfortable for a while and when we enter the unknown, things may shake a little bit. In order to grow, we need to take a risk and enter unfamiliar territory to get rid of some habits and beliefs that don’t serve us. Limiting beliefs constrain us and stop us from achieving our goals. Fear and anxiety are dream killers, but the good news is, we can change them by giving up everything that doesn’t serve us. Chapter five Worry serves no purpose Worrying is a bad habit and serves absolutely no purpose; most things we worry about, never happen and whilst we worry, our brain releases stress hormones into the blood stream which are unhealthy for our immune system, digestive system, increase the heart rate and can cause depression. There are ways to learn not to worry as much. Chapter six Always solve problems before they grow Sweeping things under the carpet is never a good solution, they will sooner or later reappear and will be more difficult to deal with. Whether it’s a health issue that could be fixed in its initial stage or a monthly payment that will add up and become larger. Chapter seven Notice your thoughts and beliefs Our thoughts control our life; when we think positive thoughts and take positive action towards our goals, we can achieve anything we set our mind to. When we observe our limiting beliefs and find a way to turn them into empowering ones, life becomes limitless. Chapter eight Stop being judgmental We are all a little judgmental; it’s human nature. We unconsciously act based on our programming and the perspective within our box. However, when we learn to understand others and accept them the way they are, compassion and love take over. Chapter nine Give up the need to Always be right Our need to be right is connected to the attachment to what we believe. Arguing with someone who thinks they are always right can be frustrating. Understanding that no one has all the answers and being able to judge what it really important to us and what we can let go will help us decide if it’s worth a discussion. Chapter ten Never Compare yourself to others you are quite unique Many of us had humble beginnings and or unloving upbringings and no matter how much we dwell on it, we cannot change it. We never know what goes on in another person’s life, many people pretend, especially on social media. The only person that we should compare ourselves to is the person we were yesterday. Chapter eleven Live your own life Our life is unique like our fingerprint. In order to decide how we want to live, it is essential to identify our values and prioritize the things in our life that are most meaningful to us. Decide what kind of life you want to lead and make your choices based on your wants, beliefs and values and not on what others expect from you. PART III RESET AND RESTART – A LOOK FORWARD TO THE FUTURE. “THINGS YOU CAN CHANGE” You have the power to reset your life at any given moment in any or all areas of your life. Once you have done a proper life audit, you may realize that something must change. You will want to stop doing what you have always done and understand that all those predictable patterns in your life are not giving you the results you want. You can give yourself an entirely fresh start, a clean slate and allow yourself to clear your mind of all those nagging questions and useless distractions in life. Hit the reset button now and start a new chapter, life is meant to be celebrated. Chapter twelve Goal Setting Goal setting helps us unearth and identify what is really important to us. In order to recognize opportunities, we need to know what we are looking for. By setting a goal we give ourselves a concrete endpoint to aim for and get excited about. The process of goalsetting helps us to choose what we want in life. Big goals must be chunked down in doable bites and then the magic unfolds. Sometimes we need to correct Chapter thirteen Boost your happiness hormones The hypothalamus is a part of the brain that has a vital role in controlling many bodily functions including the release of hormones from the pituitary gland. It is hooked up to messages from our senses and our emotions. Depending on what we think, whether we think positive or negative thoughts, different hormones are released in our bloodstream. We can think ourselves sick or well and happy. Chapter fourteen Live in the present moment We cannot change the past, no matter how much we dwell on it, whatever is done is done. We can create the future by being in the present moment and enjoying it, making the best of it. Worrying about things that may happen in the future is a complete waste of time and energy. All we have is NOW. Chapter fifteen What happens when we meditate? When we meditate, our brain produces different brainwaves. One of the physical benefits of meditation includes feeling lower stress in all areas of the body and we release all tension. When we give our mind a daily little holiday, it will reward us with more clarity and effectiveness Chapter sixteen The depression traps Depression traps vary from person to person and appear in a different form, people withdraw socially, start drinking, using drugs or overeat. We have more power over depression than we think, and if we cannot cope with it alone, asking for help is a sign of strength and not a sign of weakness. Chapter seventeen Forgive yourself and others Forgiveness doesn’t mean that we forget but it means that we learnt our lesson if we have to forgive ourselves or keep away from a certain person who has hurt us. Forgiving is very liberating, and it helps us release ourselves from anger and negativity that binds us to a person. At the same time, forgiving helps release feelings of sadness and anxiety and frees us from past negative thoughts that often contribute to anxiety and depression. Chapter eighteen Practice gratitude Gratitude doesn’t only alter the mind, it also affects the body, can help strengthen the immune system and increase heart health. The benefits of gratitude practice are endless from less pain to better sleep and a better life altogether. Gratitude is the antidote to fear, anxiety and depression. Chapter nineteen Believe that anything is possible When you accomplish something you initially thought impossible, you literally send the message to your brain that the impossible is after all possible. The secret to life is never to give up, not everything is an instant success and sometimes we have to make many attempts to achieve what we want. We never fail, we only learn, we only fail when we give up. Chapter twenty The best is yet to come When we are grateful for all the good things that have happened in our lives so far, we know that even better things will happen in the future and when we are confident and self-assured that things will work out in our favor, our mind is at ease and more focused to achieve our goals, always keeping the big picture in mind. Chapter twenty-one Never stop learning Learning keeps our passion alive and the mind in good shape. Always remember that the mind is also a muscle and needs regular exercise and fertilizer for growing. Old ways won’t open new doors and we are lifelong travelers on this beautiful journey called life.

Description

I had a tough childhood, born to a teenage mother who wanted to give me up for adoption, I was blessed to grow up with my grandparents who loved me. Unfortunately, my beloved grandfather died when I was 10 and I had to start fending for myself. I started working when I was 13 and went to school at the same time, studied and became a tour guide for 11 years and travelled the world. I had a very low self-esteem until I realized that I can be in charge of my life and that I didn’t need anybody’s approval to feel whole and complete. I also found out that the power was within me, and if I wanted to change things, I would have to take the pen in my own hand and write my own story and that’s where the magic began. Today I am a very successful life coach, motivational speaker and author, I have two beautiful grown up children and have been married to the same man for 25 years. I have learned that we must never allow our past to define our future, if I can do it, you can do it too. The book is in three parts…
